Our story

Driven by our passion for heritage, crafts, working with natural fibres, and being outside in nature, we always knew that we wanted a smallholding. Moving to North Yorkshire in 2007 has allowed us to follow our dream.

Our history

Our passion for working with rare breed sheep has grown over the years. Sheep are actually very intelligent creatures and amazing to work with. We started with Hebridean Sheep, but know we run a non-kill fibre only flock, and have  expanded into other breeds. We also have Shetland, Boreray, Wensleydale and most recently White Face Woodlands.

About us

We are a Husband and Wife Team (Nina & Phil).

Jen (known as Shepherd Jen these days) works with us and the flock on a regular basis now.

We work alongside many charities linked to farming

and animals.

Most importantly, we adhere to the

Compassion in World Farming (CiWF)

“The Five Freedoms”

  • Freedom from hunger and thirst
  • Freedom from discomfort
  • Freedom from pain, injury and disease
  • Freedom to express normal behaviour
  • Freedom from fear and distress
